KATE & REAMONN

Kate and Reamonn managed to bring the Aussie sunshine with them to every part of their wedding, from our first meeting discussing ambitious overhead arbors and how to bring all the nature of Inish Beg into The Octagon, to the day itself - a scorcher that tested the tolerance of all - even the Aussies!

Kate's classically elegant style was imbued into every part of this luscious Summer wedding. Crisp, white, blousy roses, white hydrangea, veronica, and one of my faves - Tillandsia Xerographica - a spider-like grey colored air plant that adds drama to the world by its mere existence - filled her bouquet to bursting. Dark, woody tones were also echoed throughout, from the arch - a rich garland draped over a hazel frame, to the whiskey barrels, dark wood chairs, table plan, and photo booth. All of these elements combined added a depth and richness of texture that reflected the beauty of a natural Irish woodland - the perfect theme for Inish Beg, a luxurious country house nestled on an island on route to the beautiful fishing village of Baltimore.

The ceremony took place in the paddock overlooking the bay, making a fabulous backdrop for the video team to work their magic. Their drone footage captures it all wonderfully (see below). Following an emotive exchange of promises as Gaeilge the party was led back through the gardens to the cool of the Boathouse for drinks. The bride and groom supplied their own beautiful laser-cut wooden table plan that we then encircled with a wreath of olive leaves and placed, as if it had always been there, in one of the big planters on the pier.

The guests dined in the Octagon, an 8-sided marquee set amongst the trees at Inish Beg. Our main desire was to bring the outside in and let people feel like they were under a canopy of greenery. Tall cuboid stands lined the trestle tables, bearing big, bold bolts of foliage with blasts of blousy blooms and lots of candles and garlands of eucalyptus that trailed to the floor. The guests feasted on sharing plates of goodness in the warm candlelight and danced the night away under a colourfully illuminated canopy.

Some of our favourite memories of this day were; the heat (woohoo!), Kate's gorgeous brocade gown with its teeny crown brooch and stunning veil, Reamonn's funky buttonhole made of bark with little Brunia bobbles and a dramatic dash of Tillandsia leaf - a cut above in terms of style, for sure!

We always love working at Inish Beg and this wedding was no exception - we were over the moon to be part of the dream team that made this wedding happen - the delectable Eunice Power & her team of superstars, Sandra from To Have and To Hold who provided the whiskey barrels and that lovely cream aisle carpet and most of all we enjoyed working with Kate & Reamonn, making the happiest of memories for their 'Best Day'.
